Megan Knarr has created art since she was a young child and devoted her adult life to the arts. She studied studio art and art history at Clarion University and later ran her art business, Violet Starshine Art while working at Sherwin-Williams Paints from 2016-2021. She started picture framing in 2021 under a small frame shop and was later formally taught by the late framer Frank Miragliotta with Swan Studio in Sayville, NY. Megan is passionate about art and bringing her expertise publicly to the Waynesboro community. She also works part-time at Sherwin-Williams so she can help you coordinate your pieces with your space! Check out the gallery page to see some examples of her framing work.
Megan’s Custom Framing is soley a one-woman shop. Megan sees every project through from the design table to joining the frames, mounting the art and finishing the pieces. She ensures quality with every step of the process. “Framing is an extension of the art, but I like to challenge where the art ends as I create a container. I want to give the design a full-circle finished look.” -Megan It’s important to Megan to use her expertise to guide the client’s works while also keeping the client’s wishes in mind.
Megan loves framing whatever treasure comes in the door including: Oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel & graphite art pieces, jerseys, 3-D printed items, T-shirts, posters, photographs, tapestries, flags, diamond dot pieces, lithographs, garmets, ornaments, license plates, double-sided framing and more. If it’s important to you, protecting it with framing will preserve it forever.
Megan is an active board member of the Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro and the Greater Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce, look for her almost every Friday night at Gallery 50 for art shows! In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her daughter, hubby and pets in her rural home. Megan enjoys lots of hobbies outside of framing including video gaming, painting, acrylic pouring, dancing and daydreaming about framing!
Hope to see you in the shop, come check out our loads of samples and ask all your questions in person!
